Lynda Fernyhough, MA, CCC

Lynda Fernyhough is a Certified Canadian Counselor with over 25 years of experience working with children and families. For the past 3 years Lynda has also been employed as a parenting consultant for an EFAP provider. Lynda’s background in developmental and counseling psychology helps parents understand the factors that influence their children’s behavior. Parents also learn about the ways in which they impact their children. With awareness comes the possibility of change.

Lynda helps parents create harmony and close family connections. Parenting today has changed dramatically in the last 50 years. In fact, our world has changed more in the last 10 years than it has in previous centuries. What worked with our parents, does not work with our children. Many parents feel like they are losing influence over their children and do not know how to maintain or regain their influence with their children. Without close parent-child bonds, children and teens will not be willing to take direction and guidance from parents. Lynda teaches parents strategies that help them connect with and maintain (or regain) influence over their children.

Lynda’s counselling practice also serves many women want to experience peace with themselves and forgiveness of others. Doing so requires a willingness on the clients to talk about sensitive issues that evoke feelings of vulnerability. Lynda is masterful in creating container that is safe for clients to explore and free themselves from the issues underlying their discontent.
